Being a Member
Our members are welcome to join our lively, exciting and fun activities both on and off the bike. We have a regular ride program on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, led by trained ride leaders (you can come along to two of these as a non-member on a ‘trial’ basis before joining).
As well as these regular rides we are involved in a number of other events throughout the cycling calendar; both competitive and non-competitive. You will meet bright, interesting like-minded people, mostly from the North Leeds area. There are also plenty of social opportunities for anyone to be involved in. Finally, as a member, you will of course be welcome to buy and wear our club kit.
VSCC have three levels of membership available:-
- Adult cycling membership which is £16 per year (includes a £1 administration fee).
This membership is applicable to all members who are aged 16 and over, who are not also running club members (VSAC). Acceptance into the club using this route is automatic.
- Youth cycling membership is available to under 16s and costs a £2 per year (includes a £1 administration fee).
Acceptance is not automatic, and is subject to checking age and parental membership.
- Adult VSAC cycling membership is available to members of the running club (VSAC) aged 16 and over, and costs £6 per year (includes a £1 administration fee). Acceptance is not automatic, and is subject to validating your VSAC membership.

Personal liability insurance (3rd Party) does not come with membership of VSCC, and while not a legal requirement, it is each member’s personal responsibility to ensure adequate protection in the event of a claim against you. The club does not mandate that each member has insurance, it is a personal decision, however we do strongly recommend individual membership of British Cycling (or British Triathlon Federation or Cycling UK). Your welcoming email when you joined the club includes this reminder as well as the insurance benefits of British Cycling membership.
